PatientPay supports USB swipe card readers to assist with accepting credit cards on the Admin payment screens. This helps admin staff be more efficient, reduces the data entry errors associated with manually keying in card numbers, achieve PCI compliance, and improves processing rates with card present rates. Both encrypted and unencrypted devices are supported. Encrypted readers are recommended for PCI compliance. When purchasing encrypted devices, they must include the chipset/encoding for the  selected payment processor. PayFac users should use the WorldPay chipset. CardConnect users should use the CardConnect chipset. Please consult your PatientPay account representative before purchasing these devices to ensure compatibility.
