Account Creation

Once a payment is made to a bill, the Payment Confirmation screen will be displayed showing the payment amount and a confirmation number. This screen can present a number of different layouts depending on configuration, bill type (Lifetime vs. Episodic), and user action.

The default view is when a patient has a single bill (e.g., Lifetime clients) and they have paid that bill. The View Paid Bills button links back to the Bill Center.

PatientPay does not require a patient to create an account before paying a bill in the system. But we give them the option to create an account on the Payment Confirmation page if the provider responsible for the bill has enabled registration in configuration. To enable this, visit Admin Configuration and toggle the Enable Patient Registration After Bill Pay setting under the organization’s Patient Experience tab. On clicking Create Account, the patient will be shown the Account Creation page (see below).

If the patient is enrolling in a payment plan, and the organization has required them to sign the plan agreement, a “Download Plan Agreement” hyperlink will be presented.

If the organization has registration enabled and they require the patient to sign the plan agreement, the following Payment Confirmation will be shown.

If the patient is making a partial payment while enrolled in a payment plan, the Payment Confirmation will look like the following:

If the patient has multiple bills (e.g., Episodic clients), the Payment Confirmation will show any additional bills that are due in the listing below the confirmation number. This allows the patient to continue paying bills that owe a balance.

Account Creation

The Account Creation screen prompts the patient to enter a unique email and password. This is only enabled if the provider enables the Enable Patient Registration After Bill Pay setting under the organization’s Patient Experience tab. Below are screenshots showing both the mobile and desktop views.
